No, it has never pretended to be a skin. There is a kupu edit template which is a template that works with the Kupu edit control, but I never claimed that it's a skin, just that it uses the TWiki skins mechanism to select a different template for the edit.

Quiet save (and the other controls) will be added if the sponsoring client wants them.

Actually this is not relevant to Wyswiyg plugin, which supports quiet save ok. It's an issue with KupuContrib, so changing the attribution.
