Detail

TWiki understands webs better than subwebs. It doesn't require a trailing / after a web name but does require the trailing / to distinguish a subweb from a (not necessarily extant!) topic name.

If you are browsing to a subweb in Twiki, you are required to include the slash at the end of the url:

http://twiki.corp.com/view/DevTools/Support/

If you don't include the slash, Twiki assumes you're looking for a page and throws an error.

Desired behavious

  • Make it so that the slash doesn't matter (as with most URLs) and Twiki Does the Right Thing regardless of its presence in the URL

  • Make it so that there cannot be Twiki pages with the same name as a subweb in the same directory. (Provide a warning if a user tries to create a topic with the same name as a subweb)

  • Post an Oops if there is collision and TWiki cannot determine the best way to proceed.
