Detail

A co-worker uses the JAWS Screen Reading Software for the Visually Impaired (http://freedomscientific.com/products/fs/jaws-product-page.asp).

He has discovered that there is an interaction between JAWS and the TWiki editor which can cause all content in the TWiki editor to be deleted. We've been able to reproduce this in the twiki.org Sandbox (Raw Edit mode).

Summary: standard JAWS key combinations do not work as expected in the TWiki editor, instead acting as a "shift-select" operation. The next character the user hits replaces all content thus selected.

Here's what my co-worker sent to support@FreedomScientificNOSPAM.com

1. Go to the TWIKI.org sandbox at
http://twiki.org/cgi-bin/view/Sandbox/WebHome

2. Log in as a guest user with the case sensitive user id TWikiGuest
and password guest.

3. Press alt+shift+w then enter to start the raw editor function.

4. Navigate to any area of the page, press enter or left mouse button
to go into forms mode.

You should observe that any movement of an arrow key selects text--that
is, it acts as if the shift key is being held down. Pressing delete
essentially deletes all the text. Also, pressing a key such as the
number 2 enters the @ symbol. Note that caps lock is not on when these
things happen.

I have reproduced these problems on both a desktop and laptop computer.
Both machines were running Windows XP SP3. I tried using both FireFox
and IE web browsers.
