So it can't print out pages generated by a TWikiApplication that renders net data in forms using a VIEW_TEMPALTE. Infact, genpdf does not evaluate templates at all, i.e. skin templates.

If template support is added, I think it should be done in a way that allows the current functionality to render a page with a more formal document feel. It does this wonderfully by adding a TOC, title, page, headers/foots, etc and taking off some of the skin specific rendering.

If I use the HTMLDoc GUI application instead, and tell it to open the print URL, it does include VIEW_TEMPLATE rendering. I like that It also includes two tables at the end of the PDF that show the current form data, and attachments. I also like that
it lets me color hyperlinks (which fixes two other problems), *and* it properly generates images which the add on failed to do.
If these things all work with the GUI, they
should work with the add-on...
Update: I
struck a problem fixed by upgrading from HTMLDOC 1.8.24 to 1.8.27.

Okay, I've fixed a couple of things along the way. It now properly handles skin and cover settings. It uses cover for printing instead of skin. There've been a couple of little problems in the code that cleans up the html, i.e. anchors and images.
There's an option
pdfstruct
to print unstructured webpages now. That's most usefull if you are using a VIEW_TEMPLATE that generates a plain html page that not necessarily gets converted to pdf by htmldoc using
book
(see their manual).
