Does this site look broken?. Use the LitterTray web for test cases.

Whenever I save a bug, the WebLeftBar shows the raw text for the SpreadSheetPlugin, rather than the rendered text. The table plugin input above the result table is shown as input text, not rendered.

If I go back to Main.WebHome, and then come to Bugs.WebHome again, the plugins are active once more.

Note that this symptom appears to occur only when you use a new browser. Once you went through the "back to Main-return to Bugs" cycle, the plugins remain active. Added later Actually, I cannot quite discern what one needs to do to get the plugins working again. Sometimes one trip through the mentioned cycle suffices, other times not.

%ACTIVATEDPLUGINS% shows that none of the plugins are working any longer: SpreadSheetPlugin, BackupRestorePlugin, ColorPickerPlugin, CommentPlugin, DatePickerPlugin, EditTablePlugin, EmptyPlugin, HeadlinesPlugin, InterwikiPlugin, JQueryPlugin, PreferencesPlugin, SetGetPlugin, SlideShowPlugin, SmiliesPlugin, TWikiSheetPlugin, TablePlugin, TagMePlugin, TinyMCEPlugin, TwistyPlugin, WatchlistPlugin, WysiwygPlugin

Nice catch Thomas. I've been seeing the same behaviour but it all looked random to me, I couldn't discern the pattern and thought it had something to do with activities in the filesystem (svn updates or something).

Now the interesting question is: are the plugins disabled for everybody or just you?

Hmmm, seems to everybody. When I fire up a separate browser and do not logon the plugins are still disabled (remember ip is not used anymore right?)

I also can't get the plugins to be re-enabled again; maybe as Martin seems to be active at the same time as me today.

--MW

I think this is a question of timing. Remember that this is a live update from SVN, refreshed every 5 minutes. If this happens again, wait a minute, refresh, and see if it's still bropken. If it is, then maybe there's a bug (it all works fine for me) CC

Crawford, I don't understand. This is referring to editing topics in the Bugs web. These are not generated from SVN, as far as I know? TW

I didn't mean the topics; I meant the code. As I said, if it happens again, please tell me, but it works fine for me... CC

Well, right now (19 Aug 2005) there is a problem. I logged into develop and everything was fine. I edit this page, and the plugins stop working... well not all:

(Another weird thing: %ACTIVATEDPLUGINS% prints a dot and the topic name for those plugins where it cannot find the plugin topic).

This behavior

  1. correctly operating plugins
  2. edit topic
  3. plugins stop functioning
  4. wait several hours and return to step 1)
has been occurring throughout the day (19 Aug 2005). I have tried several times a few hours apart and obsrved this cycle, the last time close to midnight my time (current revision in SVN 6089). --TW

This morning (20 Aug 2005) I do not see this behavior. Several edits of this page do not lead to the plugin not functioning. Still at revision 6089 --TW

Now the bad behavior is back (10 minutes after I typed the last note). What I did was the following: Go to TablePlugin, click on the header of the example table to sort by the first column. This led to TablePlugin being reported as not existing and now the plugins fail as above. --TW

See the apparently related problem behavior in Item272 --TW

OK, here is my theory:

Every 5min the develop branch is regenerated. At this point, all the plugins are wiped out. It takes about 3 min or so to link them all back, at which time everything works. 2 min or so later the cycle begins again...

I'd like to verify that this is really what is happening... --TW

For further discussion, see Item272.
