I created some TWiki screenshots for WikiMatrix,
http://www.wikimatrix.org/show/TWiki. Looking at the
edit screen screenshot, it occured to me that a lot of edit space can be regained by:
- Moving the topic title next to the TWiki icon
- We've tried that for
configure
, but it doesn't look right. -- AC
- Making the left & right margins more narrow.
- Making it more narrow will make it look crowded as well. -- AC

Alternatives:
- Using a small version logo.
- For screenshots, make your font smaller, especially in Firefox.
- Make the edit box higher.

I raised this enhancement request for better edit experience, not for better screenshots.
Compare
before and simulated
after. There is a big difference in screen estate, and it does not look crowded to me.
BTW, the
WysiwygPlugin makes good use of the screen real estate.

For this very same reason I removed the TWiki Logo from the edit page. It is a pain having to scroll down because of a logo on the top.
I simply removed %TMPL:P{"simplewikilogo"}% from twiki.pattern.tmpl.
KJL
Good suggestion to remove the logo altogether.
Related to margins: I do strive for some consistency across screens.
AC
Hmm, I think for branding it is good to keep the logo.

I am sorry. Give some, take some
I have removed the logo AND the borders. In the end I found usability more important than consistency or branding.
Additionally, I have implemented arrow buttons to change the textarea height. And buttons to set the font style to mono and natural space.
SVN 8762.
