As explained in Bugs.Item910 and TWiki:TWiki.ShorterURLCookbook, the new {ScriptUrlPaths} config variable brings really valuable progress for shorter-urls setups.

But... some parts of TWiki code still use the hard-coded old /view%SCRIPTSUFFIX ; a quick grep tells me the following files do this, and I may forget others :

  • in lib/ :
    • TWiki/Upgrade/UpgradeToCairo.pm (maybe right since Cairo does not have this new function ?)
    • TWiki/Upgrade/UpgradeToDakar.pm (maybe right since Cairo does not have this new function ?)
    • TWiki.pm (line 293-294) to define WIKIHOMEURL
  • in bin/ :
    • .htaccess.txt (lines 32 and 52)
    • configure (lines 1064, 4982 and a few others)
  • in data/ : tons of topics ! (grep '/view' will tell you more)

warning : I've not checked for the other scripts, since most (if not all) shorter-urls setups only need to be able to build URLs without view.

I'm not competent enough to know wether these occurences are unavoidable exceptions or not.

the minor code change is handled elsewhere. The docs fixes were needed because docs imported from twiki.org are still using the old style. "tons" is a bit hyperbolic; there were 5 or 6.
